Auf Englisch gab es 33 Bände von "The Happy Hollisters" (so der Originaltitel).

Als Kind war mir nie bewusst, dass die Falkenbergs gar keine Deutsche Familie sind.
Komisch .

Für mich waren das auch immer deutsche Bücher

Ich hatte die Bücher früher immer aus der Bücherei und ich habe nie einen Gedanken daran verschwendet, dass das keine deutsche Familie ist.
Eine Zeitlang fand ich die Bücher so toll, das Brigitte zu meinen Lieblingsnamen zählte

Und dann auch noch den Namen des Autoren ändern .
Warum man so etwas macht, verstehe ich nun wirklich nicht. Aus Jerry West wurde Gerhard West (so einfallsreich wie Saxegaard und Scherenhof ).
Dabei ist Jerry est auch nur ein Pseudonym für Andrew E. Svenson.

Bemerkenswert bei den Fröhlichen Falkenbergs ist (übrigens genauso wie bei den 5 Freunden), dass sie in den Büchern einfach nicht älter werden .

Peter (Pete) - 12 Jahre
Brigitte (Pam/Pamela) - 10 Jahre
Klaus (Ricky) - 7 Jahre
Helga (Holy) - 6 Jahre
Susi (Sue) - 4 Jahre

Auf der englischen Seite von Wikipedia steht noch, dass die Hollister Familie ein reales Vorbild hat und zwar die Familie des Autors Svenson.

The Hollister family was based on Svenson's own real-life wife and six children who were raised in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Of the Hollister characters, only Sue is an amalgam, based on Svenson's youngest two children (daughters Eileen and Ingrid).

Quitsch.... den Thread lese ich jetzt erst!!! Ich hab 2 Bücher von den Falkenbergs und wann immer ich die Cover anschaue frage ich mich, wo die Geschichten denn nun spielen sollen - Ost- oder Nordsee???? Dass es im Original keine deutsche Serie ist.... darauf wär ich NIE gekommen!!!!
